CHI partners at the Sumner M. Redstone Global Center for Prevention and Wellness, Policy Director Rachel Clark, Director Dr. Bill Dietz, and Doctoral student Sydney Pryor, published a paper in the American Journal of Public Health entitled 'Where was Climate Change at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health?' This article presents a call-to-action to incorporate climate mitigation and sustainability considerations into the National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. It emphasizes the need for the Biden administration to align its food and nutrition policies with its climate policies, stating that the National Strategy fails to recognize the bidirectional relationship between food and climate (food production, transportation, processing, etc affects climate and the environment; and climate affects quantity and quality of food).
