Internal Events: Climate and Health Connections Series

With the aim of fostering engagement between Students, Faculty, and Staff across GW, the GW Climate and Health Institute (CHI) is pleased to host Climate and Health Connections, a series of interactive and engaging discussions on topics at the nexus of climate and health. Discussions will be hosted by CHI members on a monthly basis and are open to all GW Students, Faculty, Staff and Alumni. All sessions will be held in person on GW's campus and lunch will be provided. The schedule below will be continually updated as we progress through the semester and information becomes available.

Protecting public health through U.S. climate action: Making sense of the shifting landscape after WV v. EPA and the Inflation Reduction Act

The GW Climate and Health Institute (CHI) held a symposium event titled, "Protecting public health through U.S. climate action: Making sense of the shifting landscape after WV v. EPA and the Inflation Reduction Act," on October 13, 2022. Senator Tom Carper delivered the keynote address, with an introduction by GW President Mark Wrighton. Two panels of experts then discussed the health and Environmental Justice implications of the Inflation Reduction Act and the WV v. EPA Supreme Court decision, as well as advancing action on multiple fronts to get the rest of the way to a healthy climate. The event recording can be found here: https://youtu.be/kBm1ORyGsME
